No,it's not a wedding dress--it's a nightgown! The most common reaction of people seeing me wearing this has been laughter...very funny indeed. Anyway I've always wanted a big fancy nightgown so there you have it. Considering the fact that it can get quite cold up here in the winter and I can't abide sleeping with my window closed, I need pretty warm stuff to sleep in. It may not look it, but this nightgown is veeery warm-it has an outer layer of sort of crinkly rayon and is lined in a very thin silk--sooo comfy The neckline and sleeves have elastic bands and it's smocked (?) in the back for extra stretchy comfort without the feeling of sleeping in a big potato sack. The hemline is huge and it even has a little train so I wouldn't recommend this type of nightgown to anyone who rolls around a lot at night-you might strangle yerself with it : ) You can't really see it in the picture but I actually dyed it sort of off-white though I'm not completely happy with the colour...if it weren't so huge I would've tea-dyed it because that would have given more the tone I wanted than regular fabric dye...the pattern is, as always, drafted by me.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
